Although it is a doctrinal belief in Islam that Allah will always give his followers victory, their defeat in five major wars against Israel since 1948, had left their faith undaunted. They could still even be deceived into becoming martyrs for Allah - which is in essence to conquer land and then proclaim Islam and Sharia law over it. In explaining America's bombings in Afghanistan and Khartoum in retaliation of the bombings of their Embassies in Nairobi and Dar Esalaam, President Clinton reiterated that it must not be seen as an attack on Islam. But it was, in fact, exactly that since Islam was the driving force behind the hatred of Muslim countries against the USA and Israel as it was behind the atrocities committed in many other places like Southern Sudan, Algeria, Nigeria, Egypt, etc.
In the heavenlies a major battle did seem
to rage to push Islam out of the Balkans. It can be contended that the offensives
of the Serbs the past years had actually been to keep Islam out of Europe
in the same way Islamic forces were opposed and driven back when they centuries
before tried to make their way into Spain and France. This view is supported

in Bosnia, agreeing to set aside differences and to present a united front

al Qaeda members were present, such a convention would suggest that militants

In the same way the battle for Israel and Jerusalem is spiritual. Neither Jerusalem nor Israel is even mentioned in the Quran, but the God of Islam begrudges the God of Israel his prerogative to rule from Jerusalem. That was actually why mosques were built on the Temple Mount. We should therefore pray that Islam will be discredited showing the God of Israel to be the only true god, as in Psalm 83:18,

NATIONS ABSENT IN THE FINAL CONFRONTATION
Conspicuously absent from the line-up of nations
that will attack Israel in Ezekiel 38, are Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt
and Iraq. It confirms that the destruction of Damascus and other nations
will be fulfilled long before God's final showdown with the nations. Actually,
it seems that Egypt and Iraq will at that
time have submitted themselves to the God of Israel and will most probably
be confederate states with the restored kingdom of David.
Lebanon wasn't even a country, just a region, in the time of kings David and Solomon and might therefore not even be a state anymore. An attack on Syria as in Isaiah 17 will no doubt include an offensive in southern Lebanon to deal with Hisballah' and we will have to see what that will do to the rest of Lebanon. Whatever happens, the status quo at that time will be that Israel's enemies will be her slaves - See Scripture Keywords#Nations The final onslaught of the nations on Israel will of course cause her tremendous suffering and will certainly cause her to perish had it not been for the salvation mentioned in in Zechariah 14 and Isaiah 28:16: But the Lord God says, See I am placing a Foundation Stone in Zion - a firm, tested, precious Cornerstone that is safe to build on. He who believes need never run away again.
Joel 3:2 also reflects how God in the person
of the Messiah will intervene personally to deliver Israel and bring judgment
on the nations in the process. Quartet of nations trying to force a "whitewash" solution on Israel(Reminiscent of the "Peace no Peace" scenario spoken of in Ezekiel 13}
Forces that would aim to disrupt
and dominate (especially Israel) are often pictured as fourfold entities
in biblical prophecy. Viz.:
Zechariah's Eighth Vision of
the Four Chariots in Chapter 5 sheds more light on the four forces in the
God of Israel's service: And here, in our day, we have the so-called QUARTET comprising the U.S.A., the E.U., Russia and the U.N. They are only tied together in this quartet in relation to Israel and her conflict with the so-called Palestinian Arabs over Isaac's inheritance. Their main strategy to solve the problem is the "TWO STATE" solution, a Palestinian state alongside Israel comprising the (media created) Westbank and Gaza. The Arabs are placing all their hope to get what they want on this initiative - helped along, of course by acts of terrorism. The Quartet will, however, not be able to give them what they want, since we see, that these horns will be crushed -- each in his own time, though, since some (viz. Russia and Persia [Iran]) will only be dealt with at the end of our era (as most escatologists will agree). Being at the top, the U.S.A can only go down, to make room, in our view, for Europe (the EU) to be at the top. The U.N. will most probably be replaced by an organization representing the nations that have the clout to dominate the world - probably operating covertly. It seems that the U.N. might already get side-lined should the U.S.A. and some allies disregard U.N. Security Council Resolutions concerning Iraq. Latest (September 2006): The strategy of the "powers-to-be" to "cut Israel down to size," seems to be to open fronts against her from various sides and to establish multi-national forces at each front to protect the frontline militants who are to confront Israel. It is done by first letting Israel "invade" an area and then withdraw from it, leaving a multi-national force in place - all, of course, by setting up globalist leaders in Israel to execute the plan. Presently vegetable-ized Arial Sharon was mostly responsible. He invaded Lebanon in 1982 when he was the Minister of Defense, and he was the main force behind the establishment of settlements in Gaza and the Westbank - especially facilitated by his tenure as Minister of Housing. Then his man, Ehud Olmert, unilaterally withdraw from Lebanon in 1990 to enable Hizballah to establish and arm itself, followed recently (July 2006) by Sharon's staunch ally, Ehud Olmert's invasion to initiate the establishment of a multi-national force. It might not be the intention to place a multi-national force in Gaza, but it certainly is the plan in Judea and Samaria - now even driven by Pres.(?) Abbas of the TA (Terrorist Authority). International monitors were nevertheless used to ensure the free flow of arms and terrorists into Gaza from the Sinai after the expulsion of the Settlers. At the start of the recent war in Lebanon, I thought it could lead to the demolishing of Damascus as in Isaiah 17, but I then realized that Syria would not be drawn into the war out of fear of provoking Iran. I also realized that Jordan (Aroer) needed to be involved to fit the players mentioned in Isaiah 17, while she wasn't. What we could expect next , therefore, is a front opening in Jordan following the overthrow of the Hashemite Monarchy, possibly by Hamas with the aid of Hizballah. Isaiah 17 would therefore not "happen" before this hasn't taken place. (The only possibility of the Jordanian Monarchy itself confronting Israel would be following an attack on the Temple Mount or an earthquake that leads to damage or destruction of some or all of the mosques built there - that is if Israeli elements are blamed for the damage or prevent the restoration of the damage as a move towards the rebuilding the Temple. Judea and Samaria is already turning into a front against Israel. It seems though, that Olmert has now opted to expel the settlers from there by implementing the Roadmap peace plan instead of his Convergence plan that has become untenable. Israel's wasteful, indiscriminate bombing and shelling in Lebanon could also have been to deplete the IDF of munitions to create a rationale of not going to the cost to replete the munitions but to rather depend on multi-national forces to protect Israel - at the expense of the nations.
Jordan is also slowly moving into the picture due to suggestions that the Badr terrorist squad of Arafat's PLO, who are still in Jordan, be sent to Judea and Samaria to help Abbas against Hamas. It could bring conflict between Jordan's Hashemite King and Iran, because it could interfere with her proxy war against Israel via Syria, Hizballah and Hamas. The main proponent of this brilliant idea to involve Jordan in Judea and Samaria, has been Bibi Netanyahu, Washington and the CFR's blue-eyed boy among Israel's liberal Freemason politicians. He was also the Prime Minister who gave virtual control of the heart of Israel's heart-land, Hebron to the Muslim Arabs in the 1998 Wye River Memorandum that facilitated the Hebron Redeployment Agreement. Sharon then foreign minister stood beside him. I have realized that this actually formed a southern front against Israel in Judea. The Arabs and Iran have been talking for months of their attack on Israel "this summer!" When "this summer." though? The abduction of two Israeli soldiers by Hizballah that lead to israel's invasion of Lebanon was on 16 July 2006. That was very much mid-summer, so it might also be the date when we will see action again in 2007. It seems that Hamas might be the spark that will start a full-blown war against Israel. Judging from preparations a few Christians in Jerusalem are making to be ready to flee to the mountains, this war could lead to major destruction in Israel. The war against Syria that will lead to the destruction of Damascus is said in Isaiah 17 to be basically an overnight war, probably following a massive act of aggression by Syria. It seems possible, however, that a "softening up" of Israel by local Arabs could start long before that, followed by Hizballah entering in with a missile rain from the north, with Syria finally trying to give the death-blow. As we enter July, the "foolish" Israeli Prime Minister, Olmert, whom the Lord has raised up for this time (a word to a sister in the Lord), is rushing to make goodwill gestures to Israel's Muslim enemies. Frozen tax money amounting to more than 600 million shekels to Abbas' PA government, more arms and a removal of check points in Judea and Samaria; a release of four Jordanians who had murdered Israeli soldiers, to King Abdullah of Jordan to complete their life sentences in their homeland - or to be pardoned by the King. As we have seen so many times in the past, these concessions, faith-building and goodwill gestures just embolden and strengthen Israel's enemies and she will just suffer from it. A good example of this is presently the kassam and other attacks Israel is suffering while she is offering humanitarian services to Gaza - so as not to stand by idly while the "poor" civilians are suffering - among these innocent civilians are according to Hamas, thousands of women who are ready to carry out suicide attacks against Israel. |
